Sunday, 21st of April 2019, the second round of the presidential elections in Ukraine is held. On 1st of May of May the Central Electoral Commission in Ukraine (CEK) will announce the name of the new president of the country.
The first round of elections was held in Ukraine on 31st of March. The Ukrainians chose between 39 candidates registered by CEK. After voting, the Central Electoral Commission announced that a second round of elections would take place, as none of the candidates received 50% + 1 vote. The current president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko (15.95%) and the showman Volodymyr Zelensky (30.24%) entered the second round.
Political experts predict that the turnout in the second round will be lower than in the first. The Ukrainians, who oppose the present government, will vote for Zelensky, and all who oppose him will vote for Poroshenko.
