Mramornaya Peshchera – Marble Caves

The caves at Chatyr-Dag were formed by an underground river sometime in the past.

Volodymyr is from the Ukrainian peninsula Crimea, which in 2014 was occupied by Russia. He has chosen to remain a Ukrainian citizen.

Foros is the southernmost city in Crimea

Foros is a smaller city with around 2,000 inhabitants on the southern coast of Crimea.

Balaklava on the southern coast of Crimea was home to the Soviet Union's secret submarine base.

Gurzuf is located by the Black Sea in a scenic area at Aju-Day (Bear Mountain) in the Yalta region and has approx. 12,000 inhabitants.

Simferopol – the capital of Crimea

Simferopol is the capital of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and has approx. 370,000 inhabitants. The city houses the parliament, Verkhovna Rada Crimea.

Hanne Severinsen has on several occasions been an election observer at Ukrainian elections, thus also at the recent presidential election.

 

The Ukrainian agricultural trainee Andrii Ikin was severely injured on his legs when he cleaned a feed tank.
